Relationship Issues
Relationship issues can take many forms: recurring arguments, feeling disconnected, trust concerns, or struggling to communicate. They can happen in romantic partnerships, friendships, family relationships, or work connections. At their core, relationship difficulties are often about unmet needs, miscommunication, or old patterns playing out in new situations. They’re rarely just about the latest disagreement; more often, they’re shaped by deeper experiences and expectations we carry into our connections.
Why It Matters
-
Emotional wellbeing: Healthy, supportive relationships can buffer against stress and improve mental health, while strained ones can increase anxiety, low mood, and emotional exhaustion.
-
Physical health: Long-term relationship conflict has been linked to higher risks of health problems such as heart disease, while strong relationships can support better immune function and recovery from illness.
-
Identity and self-worth: How we’re treated in relationships, and how we treat others, can reinforce or challenge our beliefs about ourselves.
-
Patterns over time: Without addressing the root causes, relationship issues can repeat across different connections, creating cycles of frustration or hurt.
Types of Therapy We Offer
-
Couples therapy: Helps partners navigate breakdowns in communication, rebuild trust, address recurring conflicts, and reconnect emotionally.
-
Therapy between two family members: Supports families in working through conflict, improving communication, and finding shared solutions to ongoing challenges.
-
Individual therapy: Offers a space to reflect on your relationship patterns, explore what you need from others, and build healthier boundaries and communication skills.
