Who should attend the courses?Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, how to support yourself and others in a first aid situation. This course is available to adult learners with a vested interest and who have the time commitment to complete the course.

What is Mental Health First Aid?Just like physical first aid, mental health first aid is designed to provide instant assistance until appropriate support is in place. First aid ensures support is provided in crisis situations and anyone experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress is guided to appropriate support. Mental health first aid is an early intervention approach proven to improve the likelihood of recovery and save lives.

Do you have set dates for training?Mental Health First Aid Training will be offered on a monthly basis and other topics will be offered on an adhoc basis, on request or for specific projects. If you have a specific training need, please contact Joanna to discuss further.

How are the courses taught?Learners' safety is of the upmost importance; therefore, courses are currently available online. Face to face training will be available later on in the year.

What will the Mental Health First Aid course give me?Everyone who completes the course will receive a certificate of attendance to say they are a Mental Health First Aider, a manual on mental health to refer to whenever they need it, a quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan, a workbook including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health and a copy of the Line Managers' Resource, an invaluable source of advice on how to support an employee experiencing mental ill health.

What kind of training packages do you offer?Examples of topics previously developed for clients and the NHS include: anxiety, improving wellbeing, depression, mindfulness, health coaching, healthy relationships, building self esteem and assertiveness. Please contact Joanna for further information on what topics you would like to develop.

Do I need a referral for counselling services?No, all you need to do is contact us directly through the 'contact us' tab at the top and someone will contact you within 48 hrs.

How do I sign up?To sign up for any services, simply go to the ‘contact me’ page where you can contact Joanna by email, phone or by filling in the submission form. All requests will be responded to within 48 hours.
