Professional Experience

Lived Experience

Jo brings over 20 years of cross-sector experience spanning HR and recruitment, leadership, training design, and service innovation. She is a qualified project manager, trauma-informed therapist, and one of the UK’s highest-rated Mental Health First Aid instructors. Her work includes strengthening operational strategies to maximise social value and reduce barriers to wellbeing, co-producing the development of an award-winning NHS educational college focused on mental health recovery, and supporting a multi-million-pound corporate–social impact partnership with Randstad, Accenture, and VSO. Jo is currently completing a Master’s degree in counselling and psychotherapy, deepening her expertise in systems theory and the social determinants of mental health.

Jo has developed a deep understanding of what helps people thrive under pressure, grounded in her own experience of navigating significant challenges in her younger life. Her perspective, shaped by overcoming early barriers, allows her to offer both empathy and strategic clarity. She recognises that our responses are often shaped by what we’ve lived through and creates environments that help people reconnect with their potential for growth, self-leadership, and meaningful change. She brings a unique combination of business acumen, professional training, and lived experience to design innovative, inclusive, human-centred solutions that resonate not only in theory but in practice. Jo uses this insight to challenge stigma and reframe mental health as a natural response to what happens to us, not a personal failing.

Danielle is currently working towards her Counselling Diploma and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She offers individual counselling as part of our low-cost student programme, with a focus on creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore and grow. Her professional background gives her a solid foundation in emotional support and ethical practice.

Alongside her training and professional skills, Danielle brings valuable lived experience. She’s passionate about helping people reconnect with what matters to them and rebuild from a place of self-awareness and compassion. Outside of the counselling room, Danielle finds balance in nature — whether that’s walking the fields with her family and dogs, spending time with horses, or simply soaking up the sunshine.
